Grateful & Thankful
Embracing Life’s Journey
Hello, lovelies!!!! I know it has been a long time. I am begging you for your forgiveness. I came back from Capetown, went into surgery and my energy just tanked……….
I do not know why I keep thinking day surgeries are quick, easy and recovery is fast. Was I wrong? Looking back, I think my body was just beaten from the 19-hour journey, coupled with the fact that I went into surgery 2 days after! I slumped into a funk and it was just hard to do anything. It was hard to get out of bed. I had no motivation for anything.
A Worthy Course
Amid the funk and depression, some good things happened. My family and I participated in the Jimmy Fund Walk to raise money for Cancer Treatment. Thank you so much to as many of you who supported me. I aimed to raise $3,000. Not only was it raised, but I also exceeded it by $200!!! Yay!!! This is going to be an annual thing as my way of giving back.
Tambo’s Kitchen Blessing
TamBo’s Kitchen is doing very well! December 2 was exactly 2 years since the lease was signed. It has been quite a journey! In it all God has been super duper faithful. Exciting things are happening. The second half of the year was a time of reconnecting with family! My sister-in-law and her family emigrated from the UK, and I connected to a dear cousin of mine after 20 years!!!
Lesson Learnt
There is so much to be thankful for. I can go on and on. I also learned a lot that I intend to carry into 2019. Firstly, I need to allow the recovery process to take its course and not put a timestamp to it. I am a very methodical person and when things do not go my way, I get very frustrated. This has been a trigger point for the depression. Now that I know, I have learned to just let go and appreciate every living day.
Thank you so much for staying with me. I promise to do better with my posts. I will see you again next week. I am also going to be starting a vlog on Instagram, so you can follow me. My handle is @teewums, let’s connect and interact.
